Snowdrops at Chelsea Physic Garden

This Feb I was asked by Chelsea Physic Garden to come and photograph their vast array of Snowdrops. They use these images to promote the garden opening again after the Winter break and call it Heralding Spring:

Seeking out snow

Hi!

I think that maybe I should give up calling these posts ‘Project 52’ as I clearly am not posting them once a week!

Anyho, this week despite there being snow fall we had none settting in our immediate surrounds so we got on the car and drove to a higher spot for some snow play. Thea bears made a snow woman and had a snowball fight. They were less keen on going downhill on the sledge!

Project 52- Week 2

Project 52- Taking a photo of each child every week of the year

More Winter walks this weekend and Lady Bear lost yet another tooth- I now have to cut apples up for her as she has no bite, poor sausage.

I really want to take some more images on weekdays in the future but I’m finding that really hard as the bears are both at school every day and at this time of year it’s almost dark once I have collected them after school and before is usually a whirlwind of “Where’s your book bag?! Put your shoes on! and No, we don’t have enough time for any more cereal!” Anyho, will try!

Project 52- Week 1

Project 52- Taking an image of each child once a week every week of the year

We went to Priory Farm this weekend. It was very cold and lady bear was seriously not in the mood, hence there are far more images of Mr Bear who loved his time there!

Went to Peaslake for a Wintery walk this weekend but of course, as my husband and I are USELESS organiseres, when we arrived we realised that we had forgotton to bring the bears coats! As a result they were not wildly enthusiastic about a very chilly walk and much flapjack eating and blanket wearing was the order of the day. Got some nice pics though- I love the light in the Winter in England.

Project 53- Taking a photograph of each child every week of the year

It’s official, I have failed Project 52 this year. There are a combination of reason that I won’t go into here but I thught I should at least post up the ones that I did manage.

I wanted to record this Acer in the 2 week window in whcik the leaves are really bright red. However this particular two weeks also happened to be very gloomy and rainy and the bears were full of heavy colds so am not too happy with these shots but here we are anyway!:

Actor Casting Shots

Took photos of mezzo-soprano Jennifer Westwood this week. In amongst her opera singing Jennifer takes on small acting roles needed to update her casting shots. The agency she uses had request headshots and full body shots in natural light wearing a range of different looks. Here is what we came up with:

I had a family portraiture shoot coming up at this location this week so we went for a walk there to recce suitable locations. Mr bear is soooo keen on cycling now, lady bear is less keen but to be fair I think she needs a more suitable bike.

We had our annual Summer BBQ on our estate last weekend but to be honest it should be called the annual Autumn BBQ as it always ends up in September. Anyway, we had lovely weather and the bears had a great time playing out with the neighbours kids, we are lucky to live where we do.

Project 52- Week 37

Project 52- Taking a photo of each child every week of the year for the whole year

Sadly I am really failing Project 52 this year, been so busy the last few weeks with work and the summer holidays and then in the last two weeks, setting the bears in school.

Anyway, just been editing our holiday pics from the last week of the summer holidays. We spent a week in North Devon with my parents:

I sometimes take the bears to recce locations for shoots and use them as my test shoot models. I pay them in lollipops, however, they don’t always behave:
